Variable Frequency Drives with Submersible Motors by Jim Hartmann, Field Service Engineer, Franklin Electric We will review the basic concept of using Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to control the performance of submersible pumping systems. We will discuss applications and requirements using commercially available drives. A demonstration of the Franklin Electric SubDrive Constant Pressure System will be covered. The Grundfos factory will be on hand to demonstrate their variable speed SQ/SQE submersible pump.
